Happenings at the Carr house

I haven't posted in awhile so I thought I would just catch people up on some of the happenings at the Carr house. Jay and Logan have been keeping us super busy and we have been having so much fun. Every year when we get our tax return we try to take a small family vacation. This year we took the boys to Legoland and stayed in Carlsbad for 3 days. We had a blast and really enjoyed spending time as a family. (I lost my camera so no pics). Jay and Logan are very entertaining and really keep us laughing. We have truly been blessed with amazing kids. Andy is still continuing with school, he has one more quarter of regular classes and then one quarter of his capstone project. He is super excited to be almost done and so am I. I am so proud of him and think he is amazing.
After we returned home from our trip we welcomed our new nephew Tav. He is super cute, I am sure you have all seen the pictures and think the same. Andy and I had been feeling like things were really going good and that things were going to start happening for us (ie. moving into our own place, paying off bills) then we were dealt a big blow when Andy was suddenly laid off his job 2 weeks ago. We were shocked to say the least. This job had been going so well and Andy felt really great about it, he got along great with his co workers and they were very pleased with his performance, come to find out they laid off a lot of other people and they were making big budget cuts, so we took the hit. We are really bummed, but grateful to be living with my parents because we would really be sunk if we didn't. It has been a really blessing to live here and have their support. We have come to terms with the job loss, we don't have any other choice and we are making the best of it. Andy has really been flooding companies with his resume and has been talking to all his contacts. Hopefully now will be the time to get into the game industry and start his career. Wish us luck.
Andy celebrated his birthday on May 7. We had a fun day we just hung around and went to lunch. We tried to make his day special and really just enjoy our time together. He had school that night which was a bummer but what can you do. He turned the big 29. Happy Birthday babe. Jay and Logan will soon celebrate their 4th birthday on the 21st. I am still amazed at how time flies and that they will be 4. I can't believe it. They ask me everyday if it is their birthday and I have to tell the that it will be in x amount of wake ups. We are planning a small family birthday for them and they can't wait for their PEZ theme party. Yes, they love PEZ dispensers so it is truly fitting. So with everything happening and all the craziness, I am truly grateful for my family and friends. I am grateful for Heavenly Father hearing my prayers and for the blessing and trials, even though hard at the time, big lessons are learned and I am grateful for that.

It sounds like you have had a lot going on too! It would be fun to get together – we finish classes the third week of May and so we will have to plan something.

I am so sorry to hear about Andy's job. What a bummer but I am sure that something will turn up soon. He's got experience under his belt now. The boys are getting so old, before we know it they will be in kindergarden!

I am so sorry to hear about Andy loosing his job. It is amazing how these type of situations can truly bring out wonderful things. It is hard to see at the time but I am sure you will be blessed for your faith. Jason and I had to go through this about four years ago. He lost his job and we lived with his parents for a while. It was hard but it was such a blessing that taught us alot about ourselves. You are in our hearts and prayers. BIG HUGS!!!

That's fun that you guys take a trip every year. Sounds like a blast. That's a bummer about Andy's job. It sounds like you are staying pretty positive though... and I think that's so huge. Good luck with everything!

Julie, I just have to tell you how much we appreciate your help with Thyssen on Sundays. You are such a sweety for letting him the nursery. You are such good people, I know that things will work out with Andy's job. BTW- what a fun family vacation! Your boys are soo cute!
